The Annual Queen’s English Car Show,

Woodley Park, Von Nuys, California - from Tony Raynor.

I travelled the 50 miles to this ‘local’ show in my trusty 1936 Le Mans, and much to my surprise we had quite a Singer turn-out, albeit on a much smaller scale than a similar UK meeting, but good for California. There were four Singers -

1. John March - 83 years young, with his Red 1953 Roadster 4AD Single Carb.  John brought his car from  Riverside, an 85 mile journey.

2. Lex Du Pont with his Black 1955 HRG 1500 - a 20 mile journey from Los Angeles.

3. Ron Stauber with his Green and Cream 1933 Nine Sports 4 Seater with helmet wings, also made the 20 mile trip from LA.

4.  Yours truly, with my afore-mentioned Red and White 1936 LM.

We were then joined by a lovely Red Riley MPH, which parked in our group - obviously knows class when he sees it!  To me this just made the group complete.  I had a nice chat with some friends, a small whisky, and bought some parts from the Autojumble.

Everybody got home safely, and that was the end of a lovely day.

Happy Singer Motoring - Tony
