On a very wet 3rd March, Paul Martin’s Flog It! Day descended on the Coventry Transport Museum. There were about 50 film crew, plus 50 Museum Staff and volunteers, plus about 30 Classic Cars on display, but only 1 Singer - George, my 1925 10/26 Tourer.
Flog It! Comes to Coventry- from John Taylor
The 1886 Singer Courier Cycle, one of the Museum’s latest acquisitions, towards which the club has generously donated £200, was on prominent display in the main entrance. This is one of the earliest examples with the front forks curved forwards.
The only really interesting item
I saw was a 1948 Olympic Torch, presumably with a local connection, but I couldn’t get near enough to find anything about it. A friend who attended the actual sale tells me its ‘valuation’ was £600 - £1000, but at the sale it realised £3200! I gather the show will be screened sometime in June or July, so perhaps I will learn more from that. John.
